For generations, families in our Kurumba, Irula, and Muduga tribal communities have dreamed of a brighter future for our children through the power of education. Yet, that dream often felt painfully distant. In Attappadi, our children entered classrooms without basic necessities, modern learning tools, stable infrastructure, and sometimes even proper school clothing. As the 2025–2026 academic year approached, the excitement of a new beginning was overshadowed by deep anxiety. When Buimerc India Foundation entered our lives, they brought more than resources they brought hope, dignity, and belief in our children's potential.”

Today, the APJ Abdul Kalam International Residential Tribal School is no longer a symbol of lack but a sanctuary of achievement and possibility.

Growing up in the crowded alleyways of Bawana, the future felt like a closed door. We constantly fell behind in school, overwhelmed and invisible, stuck in a cycle of low scores and fading confidence. Then, the Buimerc India Foundation and Navjyoti India Foundation gave us a lifeline. Our dark classrooms are now spaces of hope. They did not just give us remedial lessons; they gave us a stage to play football, practice yoga, make music, and speak with confidence. BIF did not just invest in our books they invested in our hearts, our teachers, and our families, wrapping our entire neighbourhood in a warm blanket of support.

Rising Attendance Academic Excellence

Students are attending schools in larger numbers, achieving a 62% average academic score and a 67% attendance rate, while developing greater confidence and excitement toward learning.

Through the Bal Gurukul initiative, 52 student mentors are guiding 277 peers, creating a culture of mutual support and collective growth.

A HOME FOR OUR DREAMS

Vanavil Trust

As nomadic families in Nagapattinam, our lives have always been a struggle for survival. Social exclusion and generational poverty kept our children away from safe learning spaces, proper nutrition, protection, and opportunities for a better future. As our adolescents grew older, they faced limited access to jobs and technical skills needed to break free from this cycle. When the Buimerc India Foundation joined hands with the Vanavil Trust, they changed the destiny of our community. They did not just offer support, they created a permanent sanctuary.”

BIF built a dedicated Montessori building at the Vanavil Nursery and Primary School, now a second home for over 200 nomadic children a space filled with safety, warmth, and joy. Beyond education, we integrated medical care, healthy meals, and child protection services into daily routines. For older youth, the Vanavil School of Art and Technology opened pathways to practical skills and livelihoods.

The building now provides over 200 children with a secure and nurturing environment to learn and grow.

Building Skills for the Future

Through skill development at the Vanavil School of Art and Technology, 50 adolescents are gaining the tools to create livelihoods and achieve self-reliance.

“For a long time, our village Anganwadis were plain, silent rooms bare, outdated, and without the colours, toys, and learning tools needed to spark our children's imagination. It was painful to see our little ones spend their early years in spaces that felt cold and uninspiring. The Buimerc India Foundation brought magic and laughter back into our lives. The Ambady Anganwadi and four other centres have been transformed into vibrant, welcoming spaces filled with soft play mats, child-friendly furniture, and colourful educational toys.
